families and our communities.Position Overview:Responsible for
assisting the Accounting Director in preparation of monthly
financial statements that are in accordance with Generally Accepted
Accounting Principals, and performing other accounting functions
that will provide accurate financial information to our
manager's.Minimum Qualifications:* A Bachelor's degree from an
accredited program in the area of Accounting or related area is
preferred, but experience in Accounting or a related area may be
substituted in part.
* Must possess proven skills with accounting techniques and
demonstrate knowledge of GAAP.
* Must be proficient with computers and have strong spreadsheet
skills.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the internal control
environment and monthly closing environment assures us of accurate
financials and minimal audit adjustments.Evaluate effectiveness of
current accounting procedures and make recommendations for
improvements as determined necessary.Preparation of numerous
analytical reports and research of financial issues.Cash flow
projections.Maintain and update numerous monthly graphs.Assist in
the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.Post
monthly financial information to the intranet.Monthly
reconciliation of bank statements for the operating, payroll, and
flexible spending accounts.Filing of applicable sales and use tax
returns and other applicable compliance or tax filings.Preparation
of monthly journal entries.Maintenance of Fixed Asset and
Depreciation Schedules for both books and cost report.Ensure that
all capitalized assets are "tagged" at the time of acquisition, or
if delivered to branch offices, immediately after receipt. Maintain
list of "tagged items. Maintain bi-weekly FTE report.Assist in
annual reconciliation of fixed assets per books and physical
inventory.Assist in preparation of the bi-weekly FTE
report.Maintain and prepare monthly schedule of prepaid
expenses.Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget.Assist in
the preparation of the Annual Cost Report.Assist in monthly
reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.Special Projects as
requested by the Senior Financial Analysist, Senior Director of
Finance, and/or Chief Financial Officer.Required to comply with all
Covenant Hospice Policies, Procedures and Personnel Policies,
including those specifically addressing disaster preparedness and
response.Special Demands/Physical Requirements:Position may
sometimes require medium to heavy lifting. Normally, such lifting
will include, but not be limited to, the lifting of boxes, books,
various office supplies and small equipment items. Such lifting
should not normally exceed the range of 50-75 pounds. This position
requires a minimal amount of time traveling in a motor vehicle in
connection with performing the essential functions of the position.
This position is mentally demanding in that the incumbent must be
able to retain and assimilate significant amounts of information,
possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and
analyze data to make recommendations to staff as well as managers.
This position occasionally will require working more than the
