Responsibilities

  • You will distribute mail to appropriate staff members in support of necessary action items
  • You will maintain records or files to ensure they are up-to-date
  • You will utilize different and varied software including word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • You will establish and maintain informative files such as correspondences and reports
  • You will operate automated computer systems to maintain and update electronic records, files and data
  • You will screen correspondences and statements prepared for signature for content, accuracy, compliance with policies, and completeness of response
  • You will utilize computers with word processing software and printing equipment to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print documents

    • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Mail Handlers Military Postal Clerk Card Holder Certification.

      Qualifications

      Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
      • Experience using an office automation system to prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents.
      • Experience receiving calls and responding to routine requests for information.
      • Experience sorting and distributing mail.
      • Experience establishing and maintaining filing systems.
      • Experience maintaining the serialization of correspondences serializing codes.

        Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
