Forensic Engineer - McSwain Engineering
McSwain Engineering is a subsidiary of Applied Technical Services.

We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical or Materials
Engineers for an ATS subsidiary company, McSwain Engineering in
Pensacola, FL.
The Forensic Engineer:
Investigates the cause and origin of failures, damages or defects
in the mechanical or materials fields. Analyzes failures determines
the cause of failures, evaluates the quality of manufacture or
reviews design and/or maintenance procedures
Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters
outlining the cause and origin of the damages to clients. Follows
established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing
information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to
potentially unusual or complicated situations, submits reports and
documents in a timely manner and in accordance with client's
standards and expectations
Stays abreast of office and company policies, procedures, and
practices; participates in ongoing training and development as
assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current
and comprehensive
Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers
as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; supports
the goals of the department, division, and organization;
participates in special assignments and activities as required or
approved; demonstrates initiative in the interest of the client and
the organization
Adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as
applicable regulations and standards
Establishes trusted working relationship with clients and interacts
socially at mixed engagements with clients
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or a closely related
field. Master's or PhD in Mechanical or Materials Engineering
highly preferred.
Professional Engineer registration highly preferred
2 + years of work experience as a Forensic Engineer
Ability to work as part of a team but also exhibit a high level of
autonomy
Capable of managing complex projects
Capable of managing personnel across different specialties in
support of projects
Attention to details and organizational skills
A personal temperament that will allow functionality within the
legal definition of "expert"
Ability and willingness to travel as required for investigations
and to meet with legal and insurance clients
