Overview
As a member of the Baseline Analytics Data Engineering team, the Data Engineer Summer Associate will focus on creating new data pipelines that use powerful cloud tools to deliver data and insights to analysts at NFCU.
Potential Projects:
Build a data pipeline that combines data from our loan application systems with data on phone calls to create metrics used to improve member service.
Reduce cloud resource consumption by tuning existing processes.
Partner with analysts in our branch operations department to deliver data integrations too complex to perform without programming.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.
Responsibilities
Design and develop data pipeline features to build deliver business insights. Deliver code with tools including spark, SQL, Python, Databricks, and Azure Synapse
Design Delta Files and Database tables with metrics and context that drive insights
Participate in an agile and fast-moving engineering process
Understand and explore complex data sets
Improve the performance and reliability of production code
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and relevance of the data presented
Qualifications
Pursing Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, or other related field
Experience programming with Python and SQL
An analytical mindset with a strong ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
Team player with enthusiasm for collaboration and continuous learning
Strong communication and presentation skills
Desired Qualifications
Azure Certified Data Engineer
Databricks Certified Data Engineer
Experience with data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau)
Engineering experience in big data environments, including data lakes, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, Snowflake
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month.
