Job Description:
Summary You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Responsibilities You will ensure team is instructed on work
requirements, sequence, procedures, and deadlines to be met. You
will ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed,
including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You
will demonstrate proper work methods. You will check work in
progress and when finished to see that instructions/requirements
and deadlines are met. Requirements Conditions of Employment
Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is
not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show
through experience and training that you possess the quality level
of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the
position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification
requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily
the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the
basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or
competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This
job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine
minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a
minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found
ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1)
Providing journey level trade oversight to Electricians,
Air-Conditioning Mechanics, Heating/Boiler Plant Equipment
Mechanics, Industrial Equipment Mechanics, Electronics Mechanics,
Sheet Metal Mechanics, or Welders; 2) Planning, laying out, and
completing installation, modification, and repair of systems; and
3) Interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams,
engineering documents, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals
