This positiondescription is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirementsof the program or company.POSITION TITLE: EmergencyManagement Specialist POSITION SUMMARY: The primarypurpose of this position is: Assists in the development, coordination, and writingof emergency operations plans, procedures, and supporting planning documents.Provides training in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive(CBRNE) Defense and specialized emergency response teams. Operates in the Emergency OperationsCenter. Responds to major accidents andhazardous material spills and provide sampling and advice to the incidentcommander. Receives, reviews, maintains, and reports appropriate emergencyoperations data and information for response activities before, during, andafter natural disasters events, and/or civil disturbances andman-made/technological disasters. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: 1. Prepares lesson plans, schedules, and conducts training courses listed in AFI10-2501, Emergency Management Program Planning and Operations using excellentcommunication skills specifically the ability to communicate technicalinformation to a non-technical audiences. 2. Provides advice and technical guidance tounits in all areas related to emergency management.3. Maintains and inspects equipment and 4F9WM,conducts training, and prepares for peacetime response to use of Weapons ofMass Destruction (WMD) or Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear(CBRN).4. Conducts Emergency Management StaffAssistance Visits to provide continuity of Emergency Management programthroughout base. 5.Receives reviews, maintains, and reports appropriate emergency operations dataand information for response activities before, during, and after naturaldisasters events, and/or civil disturbances and man-made/technologicaldisasters. 6. Develop, review and update wing emergencyresponse plans. Reviews and providesguidance to units on unit specific checklists to support wing plans. 7. Responds in Personnel Protective Equipment toHazardous Material incidents, use sampling or detection equipment provided. 8. Participates as a member of the emergencyoperations center (EOC) as needed. Provides training to other EOC members as required. 9. Research Emergency Management relatedinstruction to be familiar with Air Force Instruction 10-2501, Emergency Management Programs Planning andOperations, and be able to perform and train on functions related to thisinstruction. 10. Requires stand-by duty; must have the abilityto respond within 15 minutes during duty hours and 45 minutes during non-dutyhours after notification.11. Performs other duties and assignments asrequired. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Education: Associates degree or equivalent. Experience: 4+ years related experience in Air Force Emergency Management 3E9X1 Apprentice Course certification Required DoD Hazardous Material Technician Level Certification Required Ability to medically qualify for hazmat response Required Current Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance within 120 days of hire Required Preferred: Recent experience conducting Air Force CBRN Defense Course Recent experience conducting unit vertical inspections SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:Not required We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports the contributions of each individual.
