Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is seeking an individual to fill the position of the Fiscal Director. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS OF POSITION: This is a full-time professional position with varied and complex duties requiring diligent and responsible actions, good judgment and initiative while operating within the frame of general guidelines set forth by the Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc., the State of Florida, Department of Elder Affairs and the federal government; working independently with minimal supervision; and using clear and concise oral/written communication, interpersonal and public relations skills. The employee shall interact with area agency staff as well as with the general public and other agencies. Computer skills are essential. The employee is housed in the office of the Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc., Aging Resource Center, at 5090 Commerce Park Circle, Pensacola, FL. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Intermittent travel is required to meetings/conferences within the PSA and the state. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: The employee receives general direction from the executive director. The fiscal director exercises supervision over two fiscal assistants. He/she is a team member with other agency staff. The omission of a specific statement does not exclude a task from the position if it is similar, related or a logical assignment to the job. The fiscal director's responsibilities are to:

• Assist in development of the RFP process for procurement,
• Prepare, maintain and update fiscal procedures and personnel manuals,
• Supervise, plan, organize and participate in the general business and accounting activities,
• Prepare financial reports for the executive director and the Board of Directors,
• Prepare contracts and amendments for subcontract agencies (lead agencies) and vendors,
• Ensure compliance by service providers and are agency on aging staff with statutory requirements and area agency on aging board policies,
• Supervise fiscal assistants,
• Responsible for fiscal training of all service provider fiscal staff as needed,
• Assist in preparation of the Area Plan and subsequent revisions,
• Assist with implementation of the Agency's Disaster Plan as needed (locally and/or statewide) in time of emergency during regular or irregular office hours,
• Responsible for all fiscal reporting to the state, monthly requests for funds, close-out reports and other mandated fiscal requirements.
• EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: A bachelor's degree with a major in accounting and four (4) years professional accounting experience; or a master's degree in accounting and three (3) years professional experience; or a CPA certificate and (3) years professional accounting experiences; or graduation from a standard high school with eight (8) years of accounting experience.
• LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: possession of a valid Florida driver's license.
