Job Description:
Role:Manages a team with a focus on high quality service
delivery. Will manage the operations of mortgage processing,
consumer loan processing and underwriting, for both direct and
indirect lending. Key areas of focus include consumer loan
decisions and loan quality, pipeline management of all loans in
process, monitoring of file flow and workloads all while meeting
expectations, turn times, and member service goals. Must monitor
efficiencies and continually look for ways to improve processes,
both in terms of procedures and use of the loan origination system
to ensure continuous member service improvements and error
reductions. Must build and maintain productive and positive
partnerships with VP/Lending and AVP/Lending Operations to foster
optimal member experience and internal efficiencies.Essential
Functions & Responsibilities:Has direct oversight for the
processing of consumer loans, to include ensuring prompt action is
taken to obtain all necessary documentation, confirming all parties
involved in the loan transaction are kept informed of the loan
status, monitoring direct and indirect funding activities for
quality, monitoring results of internal audits for areas needing
improvement/additional training.Has direct oversight and
participation in the underwriting, loan quality and performance of
all consumer loans. Must attain Level IV Underwriting Authority
within 60-days of hire.Creates and maintains a highly efficient and
productive environment that values team members and rewards
performance.Communicates effectively verbally and in writing to
provide excellent member and team member service. Follows up with
key individuals within one business day to resolve problems and/or
respond to inquiries.Has full knowledge of and is able to
communicate with members and staff about credit bureau reports and
credit histories, risk-based lending scores, invoice and wholesale
values of collateral, lien perfections, loan and deposit rates,
credit union policies and procedures, and loan decisions.Maintains
a working knowledge of consumer lending regulations and industry
trends and makes recommendations that support the strategic
initiatives of the Credit Union.Conducts training as needed to
ensure consistent processes between the indirect, direct, and
retail channels.Performs other job-related duties as
assigned.Performance Measurements:1. Maintains a cohesive, highly
trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet loan demand; ensures
that service level standards are met and that the team is
delivering quality results.2. Ensures that all consumer lending
underwriting and processing activities are in compliance with
established policies and regulations.3. Ensures that consumer
lending underwriting processing procedures are current.4. Ensures
consumer loan quality is in line with organizational goals and risk
appetite.5. Ensures that lending workflows and processes are
streamlined, efficient and compliant.6. Keeps management informed
regarding key operational issues affecting the department or the
credit union.7. Ensures that direct reports achieve individual
goals and receive ongoing developmental training.8. Coaches
employees monthly; completes performance reviews within the
prescribed timeframe.9. Complies with all applicable rules,
regulations and policies, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC
and Physical Security.Knowledge and Skills:Experience: 3-5 years of
similar or related experience required.Education: A two-year
degree, completion of a specialized course of study, or equivalent
level of experience is required.Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy,
tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work
involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside
the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information,
building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Must be able to
work independently as well as with a team.Other Skills: Work may
involve motivating, influencing, or training others. Excellent
communication and supervisory skills. Proficiency in spreadsheets
and word processing software; skilled in PC and general office
equipment including 10 key calculator. Excellent PC skills,
proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office programs. A track record
of working effectively in a team environment and building solid
relationships. If selected, must meet and comply with all
requirements set forth in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited
to successful completion of the required background checks and
obtaining a Unique Identifier from the NMLS.Work Environment: May
occasionally require an adjusted work schedule including
