Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs monthly and
quarterly activities to ensure quality assurance in ASC is being
maintained. Activities include chart review, outcome tracking,
review and documentation of all incidents occurring within the
ASC.Gathers data necessary to determine areas where improvement is
needed.Performs quality improvement study on topic mutually agreed
upon with ASC Director.Maintains responses from patients resulting
from patient satisfaction surveys and from physicians and employees
on an annual basis. Presents findings on a quarterly basis to
MEC.Assists in the preparation of peer review information. Compiles
results of peer review for physician discussions. Acts as a member
of the safety committees and infection control committees of
ASC.Actively participates in reviewing and reporting data to the
MEC QA/QI Committee.Works directly with the ASC Risk Manager to
ensure that a safe, progressive, clinical environment is provided
in the delivery of patient care.Assist is review of federal and
state regulations to ascertain if changes in ASC policies and
procedures may be necessary. Makes recommendations for changes to
policies and procedures to ASC Director to maintain compliance with
regulations.Acts as a resource for ASC management team and staff on
clinical and regulatory matters.Leads ASC in successful readiness
and completion of AAAHC survey.Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for the coordination of all QA/QI activities for all
areas of the ASC. Reviews and updates the Quality Improvement Plan
on an annual basis. Ensures that the ASC follows the directives in
its Quality Improvement Plan. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.Must
hold and maintain current RN license in the State of Florida.Must
hold and maintain current CPR certification; ACLS and PALS
preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Display customer
services skills, strong interpersonal skills, close attention to
detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Medical Terminology and Anatomy.Ability to manage
multiple tasks at the same time.Knowledge of operating room
process.Excellent telephone skills.Be a person of integrity and
character, willing to embrace change and make a positive impact in
the lives of patients and co-workers.Ability to work with staff
members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative,
team-oriented manner.Ability to work in close proximity with
co-workers and maintain a professional attitude. Displays computer
proficiency (i.e. PC windows and MS Office environment) and ability
to quickly learn new applications.Proficient in use of English
language both in written and verbal communication. Must be able to
communicate with individuals of varying socio-economic
backgrounds.Displays ability of giving full attention to what other
people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made,
asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at
inappropriate times.Professional demeanor and recognition of
privacy considerations for patients and families. PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Strength
(Life/Carry/Push/Pull): Sedentary (exerting up to 10 pounds of
force occasionallyStanding/Walking: Occasionally; activity exists
up to 1/3 of the time.Keyboarding/Dexterity: Frequently; activity
exists from of the timeAbility to look at a computer screen for
extended periods.Ability to perform constant repetitive hands and
finger motions.Ability to work in various positions (standing,
sitting, bending, and walking) for extended periods of time during
an 8-hour workday.Talking (Must be able to effectively communicate
verbally): YesSeeing: YesHearing: Yes EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Must exhibit stable work behaviors
daily.Must possess adequate individual coping skills.Ability to
remain calm and professional regardless of workload or time
constraints. Must be able to work under stress and remain calm and
professional.
