Facility Chief Medical Officer (CMO) ensures high-quality,
patient-centered care by leading clinical and quality initiatives
to support consistent performance and standards across the
hospital. The CMO oversees infection control, risk management,
safety, and medical staff credentialing, fostering collaboration
among stakeholders. They analyze quality performance, identify
improvement opportunities, and contribute to hospital strategy and
service development to enhance quality and patient
experience.Responsibilities include:
- Leading clinical performance expectations to ensure superior
outcomes and patient experience.
- Collaborating with hospital leadership and medical staff to
improve medical staff effectiveness.
- Facilitating teamwork and shared goals among medical staff and
management.
- Providing clinical support on resource management, cost
reduction, and clinical effectiveness.
- Creating a data-driven environment for quality and cost
improvement, monitoring resource utilization and outcomes.
- Serving as a liaison between physicians and clinical
services.
- Developing management skills among medical staff leaders
through education programs.
- Leading educational sessions on resource management, standards,
and quality improvement.
- Forming regional physician advisory panels for feedback and
serving as a liaison to leadership.
- Explaining and promoting clinical initiatives to physicians and
staff.
- Collaborating with corporate and facility teams on various
clinical and operational issues.
- Evaluating new medical technologies and programs for relevance
and effectiveness.
- Consulting on physician recruitment, program development, and
hospital strategy.
- Providing medical director services and supporting contracting
and managed care issues.
- Supporting quality initiatives, evidence-based practices, and
patient safety efforts.
- Fostering collaboration and ensuring clinical excellence
through measurable metrics.
- Facilitating improvements in physician and patient
satisfaction.
- Performing other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- MD or DO required.
- Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration
preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of clinical practice experience.
- Experience as a CMO or similar in a large hospital or health
system preferred.
- Current medical license in any US state required.
