We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced VP Clinical Services. Summary The Vice President of Clinical Services (VPCS) leads the medical group's clinical performance improvement initiatives for all service lines within the assigned operating group. Working collaboratively with the group and regional physician and operations leaders, the VPCS prioritizes and directs the implementation of both regional and national clinical initiatives within the group and at local practices. Areas of responsibilities include implementation of clinical programs, operational efficiency and patient flow, care redesign, quality improvement, and patient and clinician experience. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of clinical services directors to enhance the clinical performance of Envision Medical Group practices, reduce practice variability, lower cost, and improve patient outcomes and care experience.
  • Develops and implements strategies to enhance hospital and health system partners performance on operational metrics, thus improving Envision's longevity at existing contracts.
  • Aligns clinical priorities within the assigned operating group, region(s) and hospital partners to national Envision initiatives and goals.
  • Develops and implements strategies that will better deliver, direct, and support contracted services at partner hospitals. Approaches and tools include, but is not limited to, LEAN, Rapid Process Design, TeamSTEPPS, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA cycles.
  • Oversees contractual metrics within the operating group and monitors progress to achieve established clinical goals across all contracts.
  • Guides successful start of new contracts across the operating group to include directing clinical operations assessments and action plans.
  • Facilitates hospital and health system data acquisition and clinical performance reporting in collaboration with Envision IT and the Clinical Center of Excellence.
  • Deploys leading practices to enhance the patient and family experience across assigned operating group medical practices and partner hospitals and systems.
  • Serves as clinical services representative at certain strategically important health system and/or partner hospitals fulfilling DCS level responsibilities as needed.
  • Contributes towards health system and hospital partner long term strategic plan development in conjunction with physician leadership.
  • Partners with Business Development as necessary in the development and review of best-practices, success stories, and value-added services.
  • Provides assistance with responding to regulatory compliance opportunities (i.e. CMS, DOH audits, TJC, DMV) and offers assistance towards developing plans for remediation.
  • Provides guidance relative to overall client initiatives and strategic goals (e.g. expansion planning/design, pursuit of hospital Magnet status, Center of Excellence designation, disaster planning drills, accreditations, specialty certificates, etc.)
  • Provides input, training and support of clinical educational offerings
  • Mentors employees, conducts performance evaluations, counsels and provides disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
  • Approves and manages travel and expenses for employees under Clinical Services.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required with graduate degree (MSN, MHA, MBA) preferred.
    • 7-10 years of healthcare leadership experience to include acute care hospital operations, physician relations, quality improvement, process improvement, and customer service.
    • Clinical experience in an Emergency Department, Surgical Services, ICU, or equivalent setting preferred.
    • Experience working in a consultative and facilitative role preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge in most aspects of Acute Care Hospital operations and management.
    • Knowledge of pertinent quality and safety performance indicators and national and industry group standards to include EDBA, CAHPS, TJC, NAHQ, DMV etc.
    • Ability to lead effective teams
    • Ability to resolve complex issues in a timely manner
    • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and functioning in a fast-paced, complex environment
    • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately, both written and orally to include public speaking
    • Stays abreast of latest trends, news, best practices and information in the realm of all applicable service lines and as well as the hospital industry and healthcare management. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
      • Microsoft Office Suite
      • Flowchart and Diagramming Software such as Visio Certificates and Licenses (if applicable)
        • Nursing license preferred
