Center Attendant (ADC) DATE WRITTEN: 12/2024 DEPARTMENT: Donated
Goods SUPERVISED BY: Manager ADC Operations/Director of Donated
Goods Growth and Logistics SUPERVISES: n/a STATUS: Non-exempt,
Part-time or Full-time Mission Contribution: Providing funding for
our mission services operation. Function: Providing customer
service to donors, handling and sorting donations. Essential
Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or
without a reasonable accommodation). Ensures World Class donor and
customer service, greeting customers within 10 seconds and
providing friendly service and information. Assists with unloading
donations from the donors’ vehicle and takes in donations left
outside of store. Keep an accurate count of donations. Sorting
donations into designated equipment. Ensures a clean and empty work
center at the end of each shift. Ensures the image of the exterior
and interior of the donation area are maintained to Goodwill
standards. Offers a “Donor Thank You” tax receipt, and completes
daily donor count. . Coordinates with truck drivers and helps the
actual loading of the trucks, when they arrive. Completes daily
reports, including in and out log and zip code reports. Monitors
and reports to immediate supervisor, any needed supplies, including
first aid supplies, containers, bins, and paperwork. Sorts and
pairs sellable shoes and sorts belts and purses Empties donation
box at the beginning and end of every shift. Records accurate count
of donations in box as well as count of donations left outside
center and donation box 3 bags/boxes = 1 donation. Opens and closes
donation center reporting to the dispatcher arrival time and any
time other than scheduled lunch or breaks that the donation center
will be closed. May be required to work one day a week at a
Goodwill store location. Maintains adherence to all company
policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Skills,
knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder
to perform the essential functions of the job). Must be able to
interact cordially and productively with a variety of people. Must
be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general
public. Must be able to take initiative and work well with little
supervision. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including
nights and weekends. Must possess excellent organizational and
communication skills. Ability to function in a hectic work
environment with occasional periods of high stress. Experience and
Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED preferred, but
not required. Prior work experience in the service industry
preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Physical Requirements:
Ability to engage in frequent bending, stretching and stooping.
Ability to engage in prolonged standing, walking and twisting.
Ability to push equipment on wheels weighing 50 lbs. to 150 lbs.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently
and 75 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Ability to use fingers,
hands and wrists, repetitively. Working Conditions: Considerable
physical exertion. Exposure to soiled and damaged donated goods
materials. Exposure to a variety of weather conditions (extreme
heat, cold, rain, etc.). Critical Performance Factors: Customer
Service Safety/Accident Prevention Image Speed and quality of
sorting and processing goods
