Learn more about this agency Responsibilities - You will oversee configuration and installation of Electronic Classrooms and network equipment and changes the compoaents of existing equipment for efficient operation. - You will develop and maintain procedures for Electronic Classrooms, computer networks, system operations, and product assembly and installation. - You will monitor operation of the network and ensures that hardware and software are functioning properly and that operation standards are met. - You will establish test criteria to ensure network communication interoperability is tested for completeness and accuracy. - You will overseas evaluation of test results and ensures corroctive actions are taken. - You will coordinate interface with programmers and functional area specialist and advises on problem resolution. - You will configure Cisco and Foundry Switches/Routers for maximum efficiency. - You will provide technical advice to trainers, curriculum developers, and maintenance technicians, and student users. Travel Required Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by the employee and supervisor. - Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Overseeing configuration and installation of electronic classroom and network equipment. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing advice on information systems to end users. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Making recommendation to the user regarding the most effective and efficient automation approaches. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Resolving critical IT problems. In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develop solutions to protect and implement information assurance of hardware and software on organizational command networks; 2) Develop training on system software and local area networks; 3) Install hardware, software and electronic classroom equipment in accordance with security standards and regulations; and 4) Provide instruction to users on access techniques and database security.. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
