Job Description:

The Operations Engineer will assist in supporting Agile-based operations of a robust, secure and scalable enterprise web portal solution supporting 1M users hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Operations Engineer will work with the solutions delivery team and the Operations Team to perform Deployments, System Integration Testing, and Operations & Maintenance activities.

* Works with the Operations Manager and with Service Owners in coordinating all elements of implementing IT Service Management (ITSM) using IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices. * Provide technical input to infrastructure hosting related activities and technologies such as AWS GovCloud deployments, disaster recovery, cyber-security operations, Public Key Infrastructure, network security, automated system monitoring and related areas. * Supports the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) throughout the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and assists with updates to Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation and artifacts. * Under the Operations Manager's guidance, support security activities using relevant tools, systems, and applications in support of RMF to include: SPLUNK, NESSUS, ACAS, DISA STIGs, SCAP, Audit Reduction, and HBSS. * Maintains regular and punctual attendance. * Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field. * Minimum of 5+ years of engineering, operations, or related technical experience. * Minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience coordinating with a task driven team of cross-functional experts in achieving time-sensitive goals. * Solid understanding of operational aspects of cloud security and compliance in enterprise environments. * Strong knowledge of Linux-based environments, including hands on skills. * Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud environment, with AWS GovCloud experience is a plus. * Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). * Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy.

Special Skills:

* Experience with environments and platforms such as Java, Tomcat, Oracle database, and Elasticsearch. * Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services. * Experience working with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, etc. * Experience working with methodologies and tools such as Agile, Jira, and Scrum. * Experience as a DevOps Engineering (or similar); in software development and operational environments. * Intermediate understanding of containerization technologies and automation tools. * Working knowledge of Shell scripting. * Understanding of HBSS and ACAS is a plus. * Prior experience working with the Department of the Navy, Department of Defense, and cloud brokers like DC2HS or NAVAIR is a plus. * Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed. * Team player with strong communication skills including the ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management. * Capable of maintaining strong relationships and trust with cross-functional support teams, customers, and unit management. * Organized and efficient with ability to document systems architecture. * Must be analytical and able to problem solve for technical issues. * Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized, flexible. * Effective written and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality. * Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. * Knowledge or Navy acquisition, testing, and operational environments is a plus.

Travel:

Travel up to 25% possible, but not anticipated.

Driving Requirements:

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy.

Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.
