Behavioral Therapist in the Behavioral Medicine Department is
responsible for facilitating the delivery of quality treatment
services through delivery of specific modalities. He/She is
primarily responsible for providing individual and group counseling
to patients and families. In addition, the therapist co-ordinates
the recovery planning process for all patients based on
interdisciplinary assessments. As a key member in the care of the
patient, develops therapeutic relationships based on trust and
instills hope for recovery. He/She provides person centered care
evidenced by choice, respect, dignity, partnerships,
self-management, and full inclusion.
person in this position works under general supervision, is
responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per
week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to
remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe
weather and/or disasters
degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social work
through American Heart Association
Crisis Intervention (CPI) obtained during orientation.
of all abuse reporting laws and reports as indicated
of stages, processes and milestones of normal physical, cognitive,
social and emotional development.
