Provides direct personal care and supervision to the residents
at the community. Promotes resident well-being and satisfaction
through support with activities of daily living. Communicates with
other departments to ensure resident needs are met. . Serve meals
during scheduled meal times. Follow the required procedures for
handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects, materials
and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids
in accordance with the OSHA Standards. Will comply with all AHCA
A high school graduate or equivalency is required. The Resident
Assistant must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of
patients with memory disorders, the ability to read, write, and
carry out directions, and the maturity and ability to deal
effectively with the demands of the job. Preference is given to
candidates with a CNA certificate from an approved program by the
State of Florida. Completion of six (6) months experience as a
Nurse's Aide in a hospital or medical surgical unit or six (6)
months experience with a Home Health Agency or Hospice is
preferred. All direct care staff will complete 2 hour in-service
training on ALF Extended Congregate Care concepts and other
requirements as outlined in the policy & procedures manual within 6
months of employment. A valid Florida or Alabama driver's license
and current automobile liability insurance and insurability under
the company liability insurance are required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide assistance to residents as outlined in their functional
Clean, dry, and fold personal laundry for residents if so
requested in the functional evaluation.
Strip and make residents' beds weekly, laundry residents' linen
and towels, fold and return to resident.
Assist in serving meals and bussing tables during mealtimes.
Assist residents with in room chores as outlined in the

by Activities Coordinator or assigned by supervisor.

Participate in activities with residents as available.
Chaperone activities or appointments outside the facility when

VII. Special Demands/Physical Requirements:
This position frequently requires medium/heavy lifting. Normally
such lifting will involve but not be limited to, assisting with
transfer/repositioning of the patient. The position is also
mentally demanding because of the continual need of assessing and
evaluating aspects of the patient's care.
