Job Description:

SmartCOP, Inc. is a public safety software business engaged in system development, implementation, and support services for a fully integrated suite of products including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management System (RMS), Mobile Computing with Field Based Reporting, and Jail Management System (JMS) for first responders in the law, fire, and EMS markets.

We are seeking a Regional Sales Representative to join our Sales & Marketing team. The Sale Representative will be responsible for selling the SmartCOP solution and growing market share in the Florida market.

What will be your impact?

You will have complete ownership of the sales territory and will be expected to generate new business and grow market share in the sales territory by:

  • Planning and managing a sales territory according to an agreed upon sales strategy;

  • Developing and maintaining a sales pipeline to ensure sales targets are consistently and sustainably met;

  • Recording client information and progress in the sales CRM.

  • Communicating, liaising, and negotiating internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships to effectively close business; and

  • Closing new business.

You will also:

  • Resolve prospective client concerns and inquiries throughout the sales process to promote a positive customer experience.

  • Attend and present at external customer meetings, internal company functions, tradeshows, conferences, etc. to aid business development.

  • Present basic software features and functions in congruence to individual customer's areas of focus and priorities.

  • Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries using appropriate methods in a timely manner.

  • Make telephone calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers

  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.

  • Coordinate contract negotiations

  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of RFP responses for the territory

  • Participate actively in regional conferences and user group meetings.

  • Conduct business with exceptional standard of ethics.

  • Build relationships with peers and customers.

  • Follow up with the customer after the sale to ensure customer satisfaction

What are we looking for?

  • A territory / franchise ownership mindset;

  • Hunter attitude with competitive spirit. Thrives on challenge;

  • In-depth knowledge of public safety, either directly as an officer or indirectly as a sales professional;

  • Business acumen to profitably own and grow the territory;

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quota and developing and managing a consistent sales pipeline;

  • Ability to listen to and understand customer needs in order to develop the best solution to meet the customer's needs;

  • Superior oral, written and presentation skills. Comfortable presenting software in front of executives, supervisors and end users;

  • Good character, values honesty and trust;

  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50-70% of the work week on average;

  • Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Understanding of government agency multi-process sales cycles preferred

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
