The Warehouse Supervisor role is to provide leadership for warehouse personnel, ensuring that all of Pall Life Sciences - Pensacola internal and external customers receive their products, materials and services based upon their defined expectations. The incumbent is responsible for the overall control and accurate movement (physical and system) of materials in and out of the plant. Develop strategic plans that reduce non-value activities within the material flow. Directs and interacts with some or all of the following: material handlers, external freight providers, external service providers, purchasing, manufacturing, customer service, production scheduling, incoming quality. The extent of success will be evaluated by metrics such as processing times for order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, shipping errors, freight management, budgetary management, delivery performance, customer service attitude, employee morale, process improvements and inputs from customers. + Responsible for providing direction to establish, implement and maintain material objectives within the warehousing and distribution organization. + Develop the hourly work force skills and knowledge (cross-training programs) through internal and external training programs, thereby addressing and improving all logistical issues in the supply chain. + Follows up on urgent deliveries and shipments with couriers and communicate that information to internal and external parties. + Works closely with updating internal customers. + Participate in the development of the Materials Business Plan including budgetary responsibility for the warehousing and distribution organization and being accountable for departmental fiscal compliance. + Incorporate strategies and objectives that support the Supply Chain Business Plan. + Provide coaching and leadership in management teams to identify and enhance performances for areas such as Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, Cycle counts and inventory accuracy, World Class Warehouse practices, Shipping errors, Employee moral, Customer delivery performance, Computer systems upgrades and Supplier development. This involves not only within the department but external to the department as well. + Applies Lean Manufacturing concepts to all aspects of work to ensure that all departmental activities focus on value added activities and eliminate non-value processes. + Ensures that all employee-training records are maintained and current to date, ISO documentation is accurate, and SOPs are valid. Implement program changes and refinements to constantly increase employee productivity and reduce errors. + User knowledge of computer systems for day to day, month-end and quarter-end requirements. In addition, a working understanding of international shipping documentation, cycle counting requirements, Kanban, GMPs, FDA, OSHA and safety standards. + Evaluates and directs the Pall freight carriers to ensure materials are received and delivered to its customers (internal and external). Formulate and implement freight programs to reduce costs and lead times while improving the quality of delivery. Ensures the Approved Pall Routing Guide is followed. + Maintain the general housekeeping of all warehousing facilities, receiving, and shipping. This includes all material handling equipment. + Prepare and report as deemed necessary performance indicators that are essential to the warehousing and distribution department. Minimum Qualifications: + A broad range of supply chain, logistics, world-class manufacturing and warehousing practices typically acquired through a bachelors degree and 5 7 years of progressive responsibility in a manufacturing and warehousing position. + Without a bachelors degree 10+ years of experience. + Ability to recruit and build staff through motivation and empowerment of hourly employees to achieve teams unity and maintains an effective level of operations. + Exhibits Palls Leadership Anchors. + Possess the skills necessary to successfully interact with a diverse work force of hourly, technical, professional, senior level management and outside suppliers. + Must have advance computer working knowledge and skills across all mainframe applications, PC software such as Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, and Manifest shipping systems. + An advance knowledge of the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, World Class manufacturing and warehousing principles, and the ability to conduct presentations and training to achieve the implementation of these practices to all employees within the Materials department. + Excellent written, verbal, negotiating and listening skills. Ability to participate and contribute positively in cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts and eliminates non-value activities and achieves departmental objectives. + Minimum of 3-5 successful years of supervisory experience with emphasis on team and moral building, continuous improvements, communications, forward thinking, measurement of performance indicators and value added - waste elimination. + Must be able to work independently with virtually no direct supervision + Preferably - knowledge of filter manufacturing + Proficient in the use Microsoft suite and SAP or other ERP system + Ability to establish visual reorder systems and determine proper inventory levels for a continuous replenishment system. + Skills in organizing and integrating planning, order processing, shipping and customs to ensure all products are delivered on time. + Must have the freedom to travel with minimal advance notice and be available for travel of reasonable duration (1 3 days), in conjunction with the travel requirements. (Estimated at less than 20%). + Job may require one to work early/late or come in on a weekend when needed. Must be able to build a strong reliable team within the warehouse.
