View more Careers at Follow us on: | | Forensics & Malware Analysis SME | Cyberspace Operations Security Clearance required: TS/SCI CI Poly US Citizenship Required Location: Pensacola, FL URL: Position Summary: Epsilon is looking for a SME to maintain, update, deliver training (as required), and provide professional guidance to instructional staff responsible for the delivery of Cyberspace Operations (CO) training to Department of Defense personnel at the Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT), Corry Station, Pensacola, FL. Position Responsibilities: Perform duties as CO Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO)/Active Ex The OCO SME will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the OCO course content, provide content oversight and support to the instructors that teach OCO, and develop and deliver new content and make recommendations for revisions of existing topic area content to the Training Developer to keep pace with innovations and advances in technology. The OCO SME shall possess the following capabilities: Apply technical area expertise for the development of training material to meet the OCO topic area objectives Incorporate OCO subject matter knowledge into training materials to meet Government identified training standards Incorporate the impact of changing technologies into training materials Develop tools to assess student knowledge, skills and abilities to gauge student proficiency in topic Review and analyze training materials and recommend changes Conduct content review based on student evaluations and provide recommendations for training material revisions Conduct periodic course content review and provide recommendations for training material revisions Perform task and skill analysis of training requirements to develop learning objectives within training materials Interact with training developers, curriculum managers and mission customers to assist with design and implementation of a total training package Essential Skills, Experience, and Certifications: US Citizenship is a requirement of this position in accordance with All candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Candidates shall provide classroom instruction that teaches assigned students in the manner described in the course Program of Instruction. Candidates shall conduct practical exercises in a laboratory environment, conduct student study hall periods and provide tutoring/remedial instruction for up to twenty students per class. All candidates must possess the ability to incorporate/impart technical knowledge into their training delivery. Assess student knowledge, skills and abilities to gauge student proficiency in topic area. Deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. Review and analyze training materials and recommend changes. DoDD 8140.01/DoD 8570.01-M Level II certifications are desired, but not required. Six (6) years within the last ten (10) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO). In lieu of the Six (6) years' experience within the last ten (10) years in CO, a Bachelors degree in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Network Security, or Information Systems and four (4) years of experience within the last ten (10) years of experience in CO is acceptable. Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO). Experience in CO is defined as experience in Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), and/or Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO). In lieu of degree, four (4) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO). Experience in adult learning with emphasis on providing instruction to large classes. US Military instructor certification or designation is highly desirable (e.g., teaching certificate, certified professional instructor, master training specialist, adjunct faculty certification, etc.). Unless otherwise stated, applicant should have intermediate-level knowledge/experience in the following areas: NTFS/EXT file systems (Advanced Level): Understand file system structure and layout. Understand how to navigate and search the file system for files of interest during an investigation. Identify common malware types based on activity/traits (Advanced Level): Must possess the ability to conduct analysis (dynamic or static) on a file and identify the type of malware present to include understanding how the malware operates. Forensics tools: Must be familiar with the following tools and the basic techniques used to conduct an investigation. Should be familiar with general concepts (keyword search, file system navigation, locating hidden files, file extraction, etc): EnCase Sleuth Kit Helix Malware tools: Must be familiar with the following common tools used to conduct malware analysis in a static or dynamic environment. Should be familiar with common useage of the tools and be able to explain what each tool does and why it is used: Process explorer Process monitor Regshot OllyDbg IDA Pro Wireshark Additional experience, educational, or certification recommendations beyond those listed above: 3-5 years as a Forensics or Malware Analyst GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM), Certified Reverse Engineering Analyst (CREA), EnCase, or GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) is desired Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment: Includes a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions, and occasional environmental hazards.
