You will be responsible for the design, production, and test of the entire subsystem. Your scope will include everything from radios, RF systems, antennas, and system level analyses.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, communication, teamwork and leadership skills to join our team and positively impact the future of space exploration.   • Lead the communications subsystem team to deliver flight hardware on time, budget, and meeting the system needs for a fast-paced spacecraft program.
  • Create and maintain an executable development plan encompassing design, development, risk reduction, procurements, assembly, and test.
  • Provide oversight over technical and development activities of the team, including:
    • Architecture definition, including system sizing, requirements, and performance
    • Develop integrated design solutions, rapidly assess conceptual designs, and establish communication system requirements and performance parameters
    • Work with systems engineering to maintain system-level performance metrics including link budget, phase noise, and coverage analyses for all phases of flight
    • Determine test and integration requirements as well as support hardware integration lab and vehicle testing
    • Work with ground systems to ensure compatibility with commercial and government ground stations
    • Lead and execute peer reviews in support of engineering releases and first article builds
    • Build and execute procurement strategy including supplier vetting, selection, and management
    • Ensure timely release of engineering products including drawings, models and analyses
    • Manage technical tasking, schedule, resources, cost and reporting, including risks, variances and recovery plansQualifications:
      • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or related technical subject area
      • Full knowledge of spacecraft communication systems for system design, radios, antennas, RF components, waveforms, and optical systems.
      • Experience executing on flight systems development, including architecture, requirement definition, design, assembly, integration, verification and validation, qualification, and operations
      • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
      • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:
        • Successful candidates typically have8 to 12years of relevant experience
        • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, or related technical subject area
