Your Opportunity

Our Construction Inspectors support the clients' goals during the construction phase of a development project to ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are met for the project. In this role, you will exercise initiative and independent judgement in adapting and applying procedures to address unusual situations and to resolve issues. Your technical knowledge and team-focused approach will enhance our mission to set the standard in our field for exceptional client service and professional excellence, as we grow to better serve clients, communities and provide greater opportunities for employees.

Your Key Responsibilities

The Inspector will be responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests and is responsible for coordinating and managing the lower-level inspectors. Your work will be performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:

* Daily documentation of contractor's work efforts.


* Project coordination with Contractor's field personnel and utility owners.


* Project field book preparation and documentation.


* Density logbook preparation and documentation.


* Material sampling and testing.


* Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimate package.


* Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.


* Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.


* Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.


* Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.


* Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and accepts installation.


* Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.


* Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports.

* CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I


* CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II


* CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I & II


* CTQP Earthwork Level I & II


* CTQP Pile Driving Inspection


* CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection


* CTQP Grouting Technician Level I


* IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I


* Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control


* CTQP Final Estimates Level I


* Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification


* Nuclear Radiation Safety


* Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course


* Position requires minimum of 40 hours a week with possibility of overtime (Hourly). Possible some weekend and night work. Lifting to 50 pounds.


* Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.



Education and Experience

* High School Graduate plus minimum of 4 years of DOT roadway and/or bridge construction experience.
