ResponsibilitiesThe Patient Registration Assistant:Greets and welcomes patients, visitors and guests to the center.Assists patients through the registration process.Prepares patient charts and other communications.Provides updates to patient families as needed.Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for the position.Maintains and evaluates their own job specific expertise, demonstrates the importance of continuing education to the performance of facility responsibilities and professional growth.Performs administrative duties as assigned.Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments to cover patient needs. Fosters a positive and professional ambulatory surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member. Must have an award-winning smile and personality with an unrequited commitment to clinical excellence and outcomes.Participates in committees, work groups and meetings as deemed necessary. Successfully completes required competencies of the position. QualificationsEducation - Required:High School Graduate or equivalent.Skills - Required:Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required.Advanced computer literacy to include proficiency in the following skills:Send and Receive Company EmailAccess patient charts by electronic methodsCreate complex Word Processing DocumentsCreate complex Spreadsheet DocumentsExcellent interpersonal relationship skillsAbility to listen, comprehend and follow instructions. Experience:Previous work experience in an ambulatory care surgical setting or acute care hospitalPrevious registration, admissions, and healthcare scheduling helpfulOne year Medical Receptionist experience is preferred.Post High School general business or administrative training preferred Dependability:AttendancePunctuality Ability to meet deadlines USD $16.00/Hr.
