This QA position requires the individual to successfully perform the Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician in a minimum of five (5) of in the following areas:

  • Document Control - processing, editing, and tracking documents
  • Incoming QA
  • Outgoing QA /Batch Review
  • Raw material and Membrane release and tagging
  • Quality records, retains, and database maintenance and administration

    Job ResponsibilitiesDocument Control :
    • Process new & revised documentation using Quality Systems software program
    • Review/edit documents for correct/complete format/method using required Document Management System (DMS)
    • Maintain comprehensive computer-based document indices/database
    • Respond to requests/problems from external departments regarding documents in the DMS
    • Track documents using Quality Systems software program
    • Update/write job related procedures
    • Participate in Safety, continual improvement, and 5'SIncoming QA:
      • Inspect/verify purchased materials per procedure
      • Review of incoming raw materials, including results and supporting documentation
      • Determine disposition (accept/reject) of purchased materials and tag/label accordingly
      • Initiate Raw Material Product Exception as needed.
      • Generate QA labels (either manually or with computer) indicating information (such as part number, box or roll number, quantity, expiration date, inspector and date inspected) for purchased material
      • Tag purchased materials using appropriate status label
      • Maintain part history file data
      • Update/write job related procedures
      • Participate in Safety, continual improvement, and 5'SOutgoing QA/ Batch Review:
        • Perform GDP review of manufacturing supporting documentation batch records and protocols at from production lines to determine if product matches specification for final release.
        • Review paperwork for slit on-line material to determine if product matches specification for final release
        • Review batch folders to release criteria specifications using MMIS and/or Quality Analyst
        • Update/ create Certificates of Quality for released material or as per customer requests.
        • Release accepted material from QA hold in ERP
        • Perform other ERP transactions as needed
        • Initiate nonconforming product exception if needed
        • Ensure Pall Pensacola manufactured products are tested for extension of expiration date if notified per procedure
        • Reclassification of media part number as required
        • Maintain computer-based batch indices/database
        • Prepare, maintain and coordinate the storage and retrieval of quality records with a service provider
        • Process Exception Operation Documentation
        • Update/write job related procedures
        • Participate in Safety, continual improvement, and 5'SRaw Material & Membrane Release and Tagging:
          • Perform transactions in ERP for membrane and raw material release and rejected product
          • Making QA tags off-line
          • Ensure material is properly identified and tagged
          • Perform Disposition Release from Non-Conformance instructions
          • Participate in Safety, continual improvement, and 5'S Collaborate inter and intra-departmentally to resolve outstanding issues within required time-frames

            Minimum Requirements
            • High School Diploma or equivalent
            • 1-3 years of experience in a quality assurance work
            • Knowledge of QA functions including data analysis, nonconformance issues, and laboratory testing performed on product as typically acquired through a combination of 1 year experience in a manufacturing QA environment and 1 year experience in IQA/OQA
            • Ability to stand, bend and walk approximately 40% of work time
            • Knowledge of various computer software such as ERP, Microsoft Word, and Excel
            • Ability to lift/transport up to 50 lbs
            • Ability to push loaded carts that may weigh up to 600 lbs
            • Knowledge of basic mathematical and statistical concepts and techniques (e.g., converting fractions to decimals, subtraction, division, taking measurements, means, medians) and the metric system
            • Ability to accurately file large volumes of data/documentation
            • Ability to maintain data & document control system that is in compliance w/ ISO 9001
            • Ability to have focused attention to detail
            • Possess good written and verbal communication skills
            • Knowledge of and ability to use various measuring tools such as calipers, rulers
            • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively
            • Ability to analyze and interpret test data
            • Ability to work under pressure
            • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (cGMP)
            • Ability to be flexible in scheduling (i.e., work weekends or OT).
            • Ability to recognize nonconforming product/processes that may not be stated/written
            • Ability to read and understand technical procedures and instructions
            • Ability to visually inspect finished products to determine if slit roll has defects such as dirt, hair, telescoping, dents in material, etc.
            • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet multiple deadlines
