every individual we serve. SUMMARY: The Fleet Maintenance
Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that The Arc Gateway’s
vehicle fleet remain safe, clean, and fully operational for the
individuals we serve, our staff, and visitors. This hands-on
position is responsible for: · Overseeing the safety,
functionality, and preventative care of the agency’s vehicle fleet
· Conducting regular vehicle maintenance and repairs, and
supporting the Transportation Supervisor in assessing major service
requirements · Coordinating with external vendors and contractors
for specialized or large-scale services · Support the overall
mission of The Arc Gateway by performing additional duties as
assigned Operating across multiple locations and settings, this
role is essential to the smooth functioning of our nonprofit
organization. With a focus on cost-effective solutions and service
efficiency, the Fleet Maintenance Specialist helps uphold high
standards while working within budget-conscious parameters. This
position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent time
management skills, capable of working independently and efficiently
without the need for close supervision or detailed instructions.
Proactive in identifying tasks and taking initiative to complete
them with minimal guidance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following, other duties may be assigned: · Conduct
routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake service,
tire rotations, fluid checks, battery replacements, and minor
repairs · Perform regular safety inspections to ensure all vehicles
meet compliance and operational standards · Maintain detailed
records of services performed, parts used, and maintenance
schedules for each vehicle · Prioritize daily vehicle maintenance
needs while planning for long-term preventative care · Coordinate
with external vendors for specialized services and repairs ·
Partner with the Transportation Supervisor to assess major repair
needs, obtain quotes, and make fiscally responsible decisions
regarding repairs or replacements · Assist in developing and
maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize
breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan · Monitor inventory of
vehicle maintenance supplies, parts, and tools; recommend purchases
within budget guidelines · Identify cost-saving opportunities,
process improvements, and vendor partnerships to enhance
operational efficiency · Respond to emergency vehicle issues,
including occasional after-hours or weekend needs · Uphold The Arc
Gateway’s standards for safety, service quality, and responsible
resource management in all fleet-related activities SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES : This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an

drug screen Must be 21 years of age, have valid driver's license, a
good driving record and proof of vehicle insurance and registration
with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE: · High school diploma or equivalent required. · At
least two years of experience in vehicle maintenance, fleet
service, or a related field preferred. · Strong understanding of
automotive systems, preventive maintenance practices, and repair
procedures for light- to medium-duty vehicles. · Ability to safely
operate vehicles, lifts, and standard shop equipment. · Excellent
organizational and time-management abilities. · Strong
communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of
a team. · Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
regulations and/or prior experience working with the I/DD community
preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and correctly interpret
the maintenance requests, and respond to common inquiries or
complaints from persons served. Ability to effectively present
information to top management during the Facilities Manager’s
absence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply,
and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent. REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form. Ability to define problems, collect data,
establish facts and draw valid conclusions. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,
REGISTRATIONS : The successful completion of Zero Tolerance, and
HIPAA certifications will be required in which The Arc Gateway
provides. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are

a minimum of 40 hours per week, generally consistent with the
Monday through Friday program hours. Occasional nights, weekends
and holidays when emergencies arise.
